I believe therapy is a collaborative journey between the client and therapist. My counseling approach is client-centered, solution-focused, and grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy. I strive to build a relationship with my clients based on mutual honesty and respect so they can become empowered and overcome the challenges impacting their functioning and happiness.

I believe that the connection between the client and therapist is an important factor for success in therapy. It is a priority to me that my clients feel genuinely seen, heard and cared about. I approach therapy with compassion, creativity and humor. I provide a supportive environment for clients of any age to process feelings, learn coping skills, and find the confidence to navigate life challenges and become their best selves. l am passionate about working with teens, young adults and women. I specialize in working with trauma and teen issues.

Julie VanWagoner, CMHC-I
Therapist
Julie is a clinical intern working on her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Southwest. Prior to her master's program, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology while working in case management at Wasatch Mental Health in children’s behavioral groups. Current training is in client-centered therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and trauma-focused therapy. She is interested in working with adults, teens, and kids in creating a life of wellbeing. Outside of work, Julie enjoys cooking, rollerblading, playing pickleball with family, and connecting with amazing people.
